Susana Ferreira is a Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia. Her research lies at the intersection of environmental, natural resource, and development economics, with a focus on understanding the economic causes of environmental change and its consequences on human wellbeing. Dr Ferreira’s work spans topics such as the valuation of ecosystem services, environmental risks, and the economic impacts of weather and climate extreme events.
Sarah Wheeler is a Matthew Flinders Professor of Water Economics at Flinders University. Sarah is a past President and a Distinguished Fellow of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES), and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. She has over 160 peer-reviewed outputs in the research areas of irrigated farming, climate change, drought, Murray-Darling Basin, organic farming, water markets, water scarcity, mental health, and food waste.
Marc F. Bellemare is McKnight Presidential Chair in Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on agricultural economics, applied econometrics, and food policy. From 2020 to 2023, he served as a co-editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. He also served as a co-editor of Food Policy from 2016 to 2019. In 2023, he was elected Fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association. His work has so far been featured in media outlets such as The Economist, The Guardian, The New York Times, National Public Radio, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. His book Doing Economics: What You Should Have Learned in Grad School—But Didn't (MIT Press) was published in 2022.
Professor Anita Wreford is an applied economist based in the Faculty of Environment, Society and Design at Lincoln University, where she is currently the Associate Dean (Research). Anita’s research focuses on the economic and social aspects of climate change adaptation, particularly focusing on decision-making under uncertainty. She leads several transdisciplinary research projects, particularly in the primary sector. She is a lead author on three Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports (one in progress), and regularly provides expert advice to New Zealand Ministries and the Climate Change Commission.
